03 The certificate
The company.
EFEDE is an engineer-run modular construction company in Argentina, and my first client.
The owner, the engineers and the admin team run the projects; the site crews do the building. The owner had used ChatGPT and liked it, but it fell short on the big jobs. I built a small tool inside the business first, for free, and once he'd seen AI working on his own company, he asked for more.
What was going wrong.
- Payment certificates were written by hand, about an hour each, three to five a week.
- The owner and office team lost between 30 minutes and 2 hours a day looking for information and chasing who was doing what.
- Workers billed extra hours when a task hadn't been explained clearly.
- What was agreed in meetings lived in people's heads.
What I built.

Payment certificates from voice notes
An engineer sends a WhatsApp audio, types in a chat or dictates. A Claude system hosted in the cloud and connected to a GitHub repository turns it into the finished payment certificate. It now takes under 10 minutes.
Before anything is written, it reads back what it understood and waits for an OK. Then it saves the PDF and the Excel to the project's Drive folder, next to the audio and its transcript.
OK
Done. Certificate No. 12 for Rivas is saved in Drive › Modules, with the transcript and the audio.
PDFCertificate No. 12 – Rivas – Modules89 KB XLSXCertificate No. 12 – Rivas – Modules49 KBThis period $915,000 · To date $39,327,600
After the engineer replies OK, the system answers that the certificate is saved in Drive with the transcript and the audio, attaches the PDF and the Excel file, and repeats this period's amount and the running total. -
Task and stock tracker
The owner assigns tasks to each engineer and admin team member and sees progress across the whole company in one place, alongside the materials in stock. I built it in Google Apps Script, so it runs on the Google account they already pay for.
Real screens from EFEDE's app. Staff and project names are blurred.
-
Local meeting transcriber
In development It will record the in-person office meetings, transcribe them on the office computer and upload the transcript to Google Drive, so the owner can look up what was said.

Website with a modular-house configurator
A scroll-animated website where buyers design the modular house they want, the way Apple and Tesla let you configure a product online.
As you scroll the opening, a floor plan becomes the steel frame, then the closed module, then the finished house in its landscape. In the configurator, buyers pick the exterior color, interior walls, countertop, backsplash and the wood for the kitchen and bedroom from the real paint and board catalogs, watch the photos change, and get a code to send to an adviser on WhatsApp.
Screen recordings of the new site, still in development.

What changed.
| Area | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Payment certificates | About an hour each, by hand | Under 10 minutes, from a voice note |
| Finding information and chasing tasks | 30 minutes to 2 hours a day | Every task in one place |
| Extra hours billed for unclear tasks | Recurring | Dropped after the tracker went in |
These are estimates from working alongside the team, not formal measurements. The hours went back to the owner, the engineers and the admin staff.
What the owner says
“This is a day and night difference after we used this method of organization.”
“We wish we had this automation long ago.”
“I'm so happy to stop doing this work manually for good.”
Owner, EFEDE
Training the team.
Once the systems were in, I trained the owner and office team to use them, so the tools became part of the normal week rather than something only I understood.
